“One of the most exciting exploration projects in Australia”
– Don Smith, Managing Director
Tempest Minerals’ flagship project is located in the Yalgoo region of Western Australia, a prime area for base and precious metal exploration. Spanning over 1,000km², this project sits in proximity to prominent mining operations such as 29 Metals, Spartan Resources, Silverlake and Capricorn Metals. Tempest has identified highly prospective but previously unexplored geology, representing one of Australia’s most exciting exploration opportunities.
Utilising data-driven processes, Tempest Minerals has uncovered previously unexplored areas within the Yalgoo region, leading to the discovery of multiple instances of new mineralisation. Early mapping and geochemical studies have confirmed the area’s potential, with active exploration ongoing and multiple targets identified for further investigation.
“A few years ago we identified a substantial variance between the historical records and what the modern data shows us”
– Don Smith, Managing Director
The Yalgoo Project comprises several geological domains, each with overlapping characteristics. These are Meleya, War West, Euro, and Messenger. Through systematic exploration and data analysis, Tempest continues to identify new targets. Priority exploration focuses on the Remorse and Sanity targets, which have shown significant potential for copper, zinc, gold, and other minerals.
Located on the eastern side of the Yalgoo Project, the Remorse Target is characterised by a coherent core of copper-zinc mineralization. Initial sampling revealed zonation typical of VMS deposits, with copper concentrated in the northeast and a dispersed zinc halo to the southwest. Additionally, this target shows north-east trending nickel and rare earth zones, indicating a complex mineral system.
Positioned 2km south of the Remorse Target, the Sanity Target has shown strong geochemical anomalies, particularly in gold, with soil peaks up to 80ppb and rock chips yielding up to 7gpt gold. These findings suggest a broader mineralized system potentially linked to the Barron Rothchild deposit.
