Metallurgical Testing to Advance Remorse Project
Tempest Minerals has submitted several tonnes of sample material from its recent drilling activities at the Remorse Project for metallurgical testing. These samples will undergo a range of analyses designed to characterise the orebody and determine key processing factors, such as grindability, recoveries and product quality.
The laboratory tests, which include Davis Tube Recovery (DTR) assessments, will provide essential data to refine the company’s understanding of the orebody’s capabilities. These results will play a critical role in shaping the future development of the project, with the first set of results expected in Q2 2025 by March 2025. A metallurgical report is expected to be completed by the second quarter of 2025.
Strategic Project Background
The Remorse deposit is part of the Yalgoo Project, a flagship asset for Tempest Minerals. Located in a highly prospective region, the Yalgoo Project spans over 1,000 square kilometres and is surrounded by several notable mining operations. The region is well known for its resources of copper, gold, tungsten, and iron ore. Drilling completed at the end of 2024 revealed significant high-grade magnetite mineralisation, with iron grades up to 39%, further validating the Remorse Project’s potential.
The company has defined an exploration target (Document: 2025-02-13 | Yalgoo Update – Remorse Metallurgical Testing Commences) that indicates substantial resource upside, positioning the Remorse deposit alongside other key iron ore projects in Western Australia.
Collaborative Effort with GreenSteel and Future Development
In addition to the metallurgical testing, Tempest Minerals recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with GreenSteel and Iron Pty Ltd. The partnership aims to explore potential development opportunities, with a particular focus on producing high-grade magnetite concentrate suitable for green steelmaking.
This collaboration is expected to leverage GreenSteel’s expertise in sustainable steel production and Tempest’s high-quality iron ore resources. It represents an exciting step towards positioning Tempest as a key player in the global energy transition by providing essential raw materials for clean energy technologies.
Next Steps
Looking ahead, Tempest will continue to advance its exploration and development efforts at the Remorse Project. Drilling activities are set to resume in the first half of 2025 to further refine the resource model and increase the project’s geological understanding.
The company’s immediate focus remains on advancing the metallurgical studies and assessing the economic viability of the project, with the aim of fast-tracking it to production. In addition to the metallurgical testing, TEM drilling and other activities planned in the first half of 2025 to better understand and accelerate the development of the Remorse deposit, which could position Tempest as a future supplier for the iron and steel industry.
Tempest Minerals is committed to delivering shareholder value through focused, data-driven exploration and development. The company remains confident in the long-term potential of its Remorse magnetite iron project and looks forward to providing further updates as progress continues.
