Australian mineral exploration firm Tempest Minerals Limited (ASX:TEM) has announced encouraging developments at its Yalgoo Project, revealing high-grade iron assay results from its latest drilling activities at the Remorse Target.
Notably, RC hole WARDH0160 has recorded a substantial 32m down-hole intersection of magnetite-hosted iron, with grades reaching up to 39.34% Fe. These findings, part of the ongoing investigation into a copper-zinc soil anomaly, highlight a significant opportunity for enhanced iron exploration alongside base and precious metals.
Furthermore, the company reported the presence of multiple untested zones of magnetite mineralisation, each spanning approximately 7km in length, with additional results anticipated in the coming weeks.
Iron and Base Metal Intercepts from Remorse
While assays are currently available for only one hole, the discovery of high-grade magnetite iron is a promising development for the potential of the Remorse target. However, drilling through the weathered outcrops of cherty haematite-goethite-magnetite has revealed consistent high-grade, massive, medium-grained mineralisation rich in magnetite beneath the surface.
Initial drilling has revealed isolated copper anomalies, with peak grades of 0.52% copper from pXRF data. However, these grades don’t fully reflect the significant and consistent copper-zinc anomalies seen in previous soil sampling. The company is reviewing all incoming data to better understand the geological context and the link between soil anomalies and drilling findings.
