Tempest Minerals (ASX:TEM) has announced further outstanding metallurgical results from testing at its Remorse Magnetite Deposit, part of the Yalgoo Project in Western Australia. The latest Davis Tube Recovery (DTR) assays demonstrate the potential for producing a premium, high-grade magnetite concentrate with exceptionally low impurities, further validating the project’s development credentials.
Key Highlights:
DTR testing returned Fe concentrate grades up to 69.8% Fe
Extremely low deleterious elements: silica, alumina, sulfur, and phosphorus
Confirms presence of a homogeneous magnetite orebody with consistent beneficiation properties
Results support advancement into internal studies and further test work
Aligns strongly with green steel production goals due to concentrate quality
The test program—conducted on coarse drill chip samples—was designed to verify the processing characteristics of the inferred JORC resource (63.5 Mt @ 30.6% Fe), announced in May 2025. The company plans to integrate these new findings into its ongoing technical and commercial development studies, including geotechnical, processing, and infill drilling programs.
Table 1 on page 3 summarises the testwork data, highlighting consistently high DTR Fe recoveries across multiple sample intervals. For example, Sample S000453 returned 69.8% Fe with just 2.7% SiO₂ and 0.01% S—ideal specifications for downstream beneficiation.
