On the Ground and Drilling: Tempest Delivers Multi-Project Progress in WA

It’s been a busy and productive last month for Tempest Minerals (ASX:TEM) as the company accelerates its multi-commodity exploration strategy across Western Australia, with significant activity at both the Range Project in Mt Magnet and the Halo Prospect in Yalgoo.

Fieldwork translated into action on the ground—drilling commenced, new gold targets were confirmed, and copper and iron upside continues to emerge. These milestones were shared with shareholders via a live investor webinar from the field, now available to replay.

Mt Magnet: Drilling at High-Grade Gold Corridor

Tempest officially commenced reverse circulation (RC) drilling at its flagship Range Project in Mt Magnet. The drilling program tested a series of high-priority gold targets identified through extensive surface mapping, geophysics, and rock chip sampling.

The Cherokee target—a newly validated area where rock chip assays returned values above 1g/t gold—was also added to the program. These results confirmed mineralisation consistent with the host rocks of nearby mines, including the Britannia Well Mine.

Other key targets include:

  • Wrangler and Defender – Historically productive zones now drill-ready.

  • Cherokee – Follow-up drilling added following high-grade surface samples and geological correlation.

The Range Project sits just 5km from a processing facility, offering near-mine synergies and reduced infrastructure risk.

Yalgoo: Halo Reveals Multi-Metal Opportunity

Tempest’ Halo Prospect at Yalgoo, is now showing strong signs of being a multi-commodity target, offering exposure to iron, copper and gold, following further exploration and mapping by TEM.

  • TEM’s recent fieldwork indicates Halo is highly prospective for copper and gold, in addition to the previously reported banded iron formations (BIF) and high-grade iron rock chips (up to 60.1% Fe)

  • The project area is underlain by large magnetic features and sits adjacent to the company’s Remorse iron resource, which it may ultimately eclipse in scale

Importantly, TEM recently received regulatory approval to drill at the Halo prospect and, in conjunction with the traditional owners of the area, the Badimia People, is conducting a heritage survey to prepare the site for Phase I drilling. This reflects the company’s commitment to respectful engagement and responsible exploration practices as it builds out its presence in this high-potential region.

What’s Next for TEM?

With drilling completed at Mt Magnet and fieldwork continuing at Yalgoo’s Halo prospect, Tempest is making solid progress across its multi-commodity WA portfolio. Assay results from the RC drill program are expected as soon as possible. Investors and stakeholders can also catch up with Tempest at IMARC 2025, where Tempest will be sharing the latest from its gold and multi-metal exploration efforts across WA.
