Tempest Minerals (ASX:TEM) has had a dynamic start to the second half of 2025, progressing multiple fronts of exploration across its Western Australian portfolio. With early-stage work now active at Mt Magnet and a promising new iron target identified at Yalgoo, the company continues to demonstrate a clear path from technical discovery to shareholder value.
Here’s a round-up of recent updates and what it means for Tempest’s forward momentum:
Mt Magnet: From Targeting to Drilling
Tempest has kicked off its first major field campaign at the Range Project in Mt Magnet, marking a return to gold exploration in a historically prolific belt. With over 20 km² of 100%-owned tenure, the project sits just 5 km from a processing facility and alongside existing producers.
Key developments:
Surface mapping and magnetics have outlined multiple walk-up drill targets.
Drill pads and logistics are now complete, and drilling is expected to begin late-August 2025.
First phase will focus on the Wrangler and Defender targets, both situated near historic gold workings.
The team is also evaluating additional prospects: Cruiser, Evoke, and Rubicon.
Proven district. Near-mine opportunity. Drilling to commence.

Halo Prospect: Iron Upside Beyond Remorse
At the Yalgoo Project, Tempest has identified a significant new iron target at the Halo Prospect, just 5 km west of the existing Remorse resource. Early fieldwork indicates:
A much larger footprint than Remorse, based on magnetics and outcrop analysis.
Historic rock chips grading up to 62.1% Fe.
A 5 km outcropping iron formation with high prospectivity.
Drilling planned for Q4 2025, targeting multiple magnetic horizons.
Halo strengthens the company’s vision of a scalable iron corridor in Yalgoo, complementing its maiden JORC-compliant magnetite resource at Remorse.
June Quarter Snapshot: Funding, Focus, and Forward Movement
In the Quarterly Activities Report released July 31, 2025, Tempest reaffirmed its exploration momentum with:
$1.87M in total funding secured across a placement and fully-subscribed entitlement offer.
Preparation for maiden drilling at Wrangler and Defender.
Focused expenditure on drill preparation, logistics, field teams, and permitting.
Tempest enters the second half of 2025 in a solid financial position, with recent exploration outflows aligned to advancing fieldwork and drilling preparations across its WA projects. Read the full report here.
